At some point you have to validate your code, be it CSS, html, xhtml... These links should get you there.
A very cool "Local W3C Validator Favelet" - head on over and read the whole thing, or just drop the favelet onto your bookmarks toolbar and give it a shot. Even makes use of XMLHttpRequest at one point, sadly making it unfit for IE (see article).
